Yap State

It administers both the Yap Islands (locally known as "Waqab", "Waqaab" or "Wa'ab") and fourteen atolls reaching to the east and south for some 800 km (500 mi), namely Eauripik, Elato, Fais, Faraulep, Gaferut, Ifalik, Lamotrek, Ngulu, Olimarao, Piagailoe (West Fayu), Pikelot, Sorol, Ulithi, and Woleai atolls, as well as the island of Satawal (municipalities in bold).

The state was once the Yap District of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.
Geography
Yap State is the westernmost state of the FSM. To the east in order of distance are Chuuk State, Pohnpei State, and Kosrae State.
Languages
Yap State has five official languages: English, Ulithian, Woleaian, Satawalese, and Yapese.[1]
