World qualification tournaments

Qualified teams

* The top four teams from 2011 Asian Championship were predetermined to be in Tournament 1 in Japan.

^1 – Italy, which were previously announced as hosts of Tournament 2, won the European qualification and secured a direct berth.  Bulgaria replaced Italy as hosts.[2]

  • The Asian Qualification Tournament was combined with the World Qualification Tournament 1. The first place team of the tournament qualified as the winners of the World Qualification Tournament 1, while the best asian team except the winners qualified as the Asian Qualification Tournament winners.
