The Resolution Foundation is an independent British think tank established in 2005. Its aim is to improve the standard of living of low- and middle-income families.[1] In the year ending 30 September 2014, its annual income was £1,135,828. It has been awarded an A rating for transparency by the Who Funds You? project.[2] The organisation's leader is former Conservative MP David Willetts, who took over as executive chair in June 2015.[3][4] At the same time, Torsten Bell, a former senior advisor to Labour Party leader Ed Miliband, was appointed as the organisation's director, to lead what the Foundation describes as "an expanded programme of work".[1][5] Prior to the appointment of Willetts and Bell, the organisation was led by a chief executive. Sue Regan held this post from 2005 until 2010, and was followed by Gavin Kelly, who held the post until 2015, when he became the CEO of the Resolution Trust, which is the think tank's primary funder.[1]
