Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. The issue concerning women's suffrage in the Philippines was settled in a special plebiscite held on April 30, 1937. Ninety percent of voters were in favor of the measure.
In compliance with the 1935 Constitution, the National Assembly passed a law which extended the right of suffrage to women, a right which still remains.
As mandated by Commonwealth Act No. 34, women who meets the same qualification for men voted in the plebiscite.[2][1]
86 percent of those who registered for the plebiscite made a vote. Those who registered compromises of 29 percent of women voters eligible for the plebiscite.[3]
