The Penn–Yale football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Penn Quakers and Yale Bulldogs. Penn and Yale first met in 1879. Yale won the first 12 games and the series was suspended after the 1893 season. It was not resumed until 1926 when Penn beat Yale at the Bowl, 16-13. The series was suspended again for 9 years and resumed in 1934. Yale won the next 4 contests but Penn came back to be victorious in the next 9 out of 10 games. Since 1926 Penn and Yale have won 35 games each. There has been 1 tie (1977) in the 83 games played since 1879. [1]
