Navan North railway station is one of two proposed railway stations intended to serve the town of Navan in County Meath.
The station is planned to be built as part of the second phase of reinstatement of the Clonsilla-Navan line but at present been deferred due to the reduction in the Exchequer capital investment programme. The proposed route consists of 34km of railway line with stations located at Dunshaughlin, Kilmessan, Navan town central station and Navan North. The service will restore passenger railway services to Navan for the first time since the closure of the original Navan station in 1958.
The station will be the northern terminus of the reinstated line and is planned as a major park and ride facility, located to the north of the town, close to the village of Windtown.[1] This will enable it to serve towns to the north of Navan itself, such as Oldcastle and Kells.[2]
