Martin John Dunn[1] is an American politician who served as Mayor of Holyoke, Massachusetts and in the Massachusetts Senate.

Early life

Dunn was born on March 9, 1956 in Holyoke. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1974, Mt. Herman Academy in 1975, Columbia University in 1979, and Suffolk University Law School and 1982.[1] His uncle, Maurice A. Donahue, served as President of the Massachusetts Senate from 1964 to 1971.[2]

Political career

Dunn was a Holyoke Alderman from 1984 to 1986. From 1987 to 1991 he was Mayor of Holyoke. He resigned as mayor after he was elected to the Massachusetts Senate.[1] He did not run for reelection and was succeeded by Shannon O'Brien.
