Marehra has an average literacy rate of 51%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; male literacy is 60%, and female literacy is 40%. In Marehra, 15.7% of the population is under 6 years of age. Marehra is a state legislative assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Marehra, also known as Marehra Shareef, is a noted pilgrimage site for Sunni Muslims.[2][3] There is an Essar petrol pump(Marehra Filling Station) on Mirehchi road near Government Civil Hospital(B. M. Zuberi Hospital).
