Mamye E. BaCote (born February 18, 1939, in Halifax, Virginia) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. She is currently a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 95th District since 2004.[1]
In the legislature
Bacote was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates, she is assigned to the House Appropriations committee. She has been successful in pushing for funding for the Newport News Drug Court. Drug Court offers participants the opportunity to stay out of jail through intense rehabilitation efforts.[2]
