Lana Condor (born May 11, 1997)[1] is a Vietnamese-American actress. She made her debut as Jubilation Lee / Jubilee in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.

Life and career

Condor was born in Cần Thơ, Vietnam and was adopted at four months old in October 1997, along with her non-biological brother Arthur.[2][3] Her parents are Mary (née Haubold) and Yahoo! Sports executive editor Bob Condor, both of whom are white Americans.[4] She was raised in her parents' native Chicago until she was six. Her father's journalism career required the family to move to Washington State, then New York City, before settling in Los Angeles.[5]

Condor attended Joffrey Ballet and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City, and danced with the Los Angeles Ballet.[6] After her parents noticed her natural talent for performing, Condor took acting classes for a summer at the New York Film Academy.[5][7] She was educated at Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles, graduating in 2015.[8] Condor was accepted to Loyola Marymount University, from which she has deferred enrollment.[9]

Condor made her acting debut as Jubilee in Bryan Singer's superhero film X-Men: Apocalypse, released on May 27, 2016.[10] She will portray the girlfriend of slain Officer Sean Collier in Peter Berg's drama film Patriots Day, depicting the events and aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing. The film will be released on December 21, 2016.[11]
