Jason Staehler Hill is an American record producer,[1] audio engineer, mixing engineer, multi-instrumentalist, film score composer and songwriter. His production, songwriting, and mixing credits include Louis XIV, Brandon Flowers, Robbie Williams, The Killers, Sky Ferriera, David Fincher, New York Dolls, Ariel Pink, The Virgins, Soko, Macy Gray, Richard Butler of Psychedelic Furs, Borns, Vicky Cryer, The Bronx, and collaborations with Nick Littlemore and Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun, among others. Hill is the former lead singer, guitarist and producer of the band Louis XIV (2003-2009) as well as the bassist and producer of The New York Dolls (2010-2011). Louis XIV achieved notable success with the 2005 Billboard top 10 hit "Finding out True Love is Blind". Hill also co-wrote and produced The Virgins' 2007 single, "Rich Girls" and sang back up vocals on The Killers album Sam's Town (over 8 million worldwide sales). In 2014 Hill began his work as a film score composer, working with director David Fincher (Academy Award nominated and BAFTA, Golden Globe winner for Best Direction) on Gone Girl and again in 2015 with Fincher on HBO's Videosyncrasy.

LOUIS XIV

Louis XIV formed in Spring of 2003 while living in Paris, France and to date has released 3 LPs Louis XIV (2003), The Best Little Secrets are Kept (2005), Slick Dogs and Ponies (2008) along with 4 Ep's Blue (2004), Pink (2004), Illegal Tender (2005), and The Distances From Everyone to You (2007). Originally breaking in the Uk with praises from Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) in NME magazine and radio play on the BBC Radio One by Zane Lowe and Mary Anne Hobbes. Louis XIV would garner national radio play with Finding Out true Love is Blind reaching #1 on such radio stations as KROQ and Live 105 before signing to Atlantic Records in 2004. Louis XIV were frequent guests on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Jonathon Ross Show (U.K). After extensive worldwide touring with the likes of David Bowie, Arcade Fire, The White Stripes, The Killers and many others, Louis XIV broke up in 2009 for Hill to concentrate on record producing. In 2013 Louis XIV reformed briefly to tour Europe and Mexico with The Killers along with an appearance in Las Vegas.

Studio and Charity

Hill currently is owner of Ulysses Recording and Film Studios in Hollywood, CA and the record companies Fancy Animal Records and The Pineapple Recording Group. As a songwriter he is currently signed to Universal Music Publishing.

In 2007 Hill and Louis XIV began working with David Bowie and Alicia Keyes to put on the massively successful Aid for Africa events in New York City. All proceeds help fight Aids in Africa.
