Johannes "Hannes" Bauer (born July 22, 1954 in Halle (Saale)) is a trombonist of improvised music and free jazz from Germany. He is the brother of the trombonist Conny Bauer
Since 1979 he works as a freelance musician. He lives in Berlin.
Among others he worked with following groups. The Manfred Schulze Wind Quintet, Doppelmoppel (with Conny Bauer, Uwe Kropinski, Helmut "Joe" Sachse), Slawterhaus (with Jon Rose, Peter Hollinger and Dietmar Diesner, Futch (with Thomas Lehn and Jon Rose), Ken Vandermark Territory Band and the Peter Brötzmann Tentet.
