HR 6135 is an orange giant star, type K0.5III, 800 light years from here in the southern constellation of Apus that shines with an apparent visual magnitude of 5.50 making it the 12th brightest star in the constellation. Its declination of minus 70° 59.4' puts it just within 20 degrees of the southern celestial pole.
