Chris Salvi (born June 22, 1989) is a former American football safety. He played college football for Notre Dame.

Early years

Salvi grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois, and is one of five boys in the family. He attended Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois where he played football for coach Andy Bitto. During his senior season for the Corsairs he recorded 107 total tackles, 4 interceptions, 3 fumbles recovered, 5 forced fumbles, and 1 touchdown on a blocked punt. He was offered no scholarships out of high school.

College career

Salvi first played for Butler, before transferring to Notre Dame. He recorded 18 career tackles, and was teammates with brother Will on the team.[1] Salvi initially walked on to the Notre Dame football team, but for his final season as a 5th year senior, Salvi earned a scholarship.

Professional career

Salvi went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, and attended the Chicago Bears rookie minicamp, but was not signed.[2]

Salvi was signed by the Torino Giaguari, in October 2013. Salvi would play in the 2014 IFL season. Salvi would re-sign with the Giaguari football team for the 2016 season. The Giaguari are a part of the Italian Football League first division.

Boxing career

Salvi participated in the annual Notre Dame Bengal Bouts charity tournament in 2012. He went on to win the 188 pound division.
