He has filmed over a hundred Chinese movies and over thirty Wuxia films from the late 1950s and the early 1960s while working at Shaw Brothers Studio.

He later quit Shaw Brothers Studio and joined Orange Sky Golden Harvest to continue his career, where he filmed tons of martial arts movies as villains with the late Bruce Lee. He is known as one of Bruce Lee's notable students.

He has started filming at the age of 15, and became professional at the age of 22. He has filmed many martial arts movies with Bruce Lee in the 1970s and also filmed several movies in the Bruceploitation era.

Early years

Chan was born on January 23, 1954 in Hong Kong, one year old younger than his older brother, Billy Chan, or famously known as Chan Wui-ngai. He attended the Nan-Hwa High School with his brother. His brother Billy failed first year and Peter went to school alone.

At the age of 13, he and his brother Billy was sent to the China Drama Academy, a Peking Opera School run by Yu Jim-yuen. One year later, he started learning martial arts from Bruce Lee.

Career

Chan started filming at the age of 15. On summertime 1964, he joined Shaw Brothers Studio and filmed almost thirty Wuxia films and over a hundred movies there. He then quitted Shaw Bros. and joined Orange Sky Golden Harvest, a production company which is the rival of Shaw Bros.

Chan appeared in three Bruce Lee films, one of the Japanese villains in the movie Fist of Fury, Han Ying-chieh's trusted man in "The Great Boss," and an assailant in "Operation Dragon." In the 70's, Chan Lung became a frequent actor in Sammo Hung's films. He also starred with Jackie Chan in Snake in the Eagle's Shadow.
