Catherington Down View

Catherington Down is a hill, or down, in Hampshire, England. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest[1][2] and a Local Nature Reserve.[3][4]

It rises fairly steeply on its eastern flank. It is managed by Hampshire County Council and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

It is a chalk based grassland similar to the South Downs and is an example of early strip cultivation.

The area is popular with local dog walkers and has a number of footpaths across it.

Catherington Down is accessible via Catherington village via Parsons Field or off Catherington Lane.
