Ballplay is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Etowah County, Alabama, United States. Its population was 1,580 as of the 2010 census.[2]
History
Ballplay was so named because Native Americans would play a ball game at the site in order to resolve disputes between tribes.[4] A post office was established at Ballplay in 1840, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1905.[5]
