The Assistant Bishop of Newcastle is an episcopal title used by the sole full-time stipendiary assistant bishop (effectively suffragan bishop) of the Church of England Diocese of Newcastle in the Province of York, England.[1] The title takes its name as the bishop who assists the diocesan Bishop of Newcastle.

Frank White has been the Assistant Bishop of Newcastle since 28 November 2010,[2] having previously served in the Diocese of Peterborough as suffragan Bishop of Brixworth for eight years.

On 28 November 2015, White (at the end of a vacancy in the diocesan See), presented a proposal to the Diocesan Synod to revive the abeyant Suffragan See of Berwick.[3][4] The Dioceses Commission approved the petition to revive the See,[5] so no new Assistant Bishop will be appointed, but a Bishop of Berwick will instead.
