Apantesis phalerata (harnessed tiger moth) is a species of moth of the family Arctiidae.[3] It is found from Ontario, Quebec and Maine to Florida, west to Texas, north to South Dakota.

The wingspan is 30–42 mm. The moths fly from May to September depending on the location.

The larvae feed on Trifolium, Spartina, Taraxacum, and Plantago species, as well as other low-growing plants.
