The 2016–17 Connecticut Huskies men's basketball team represents the University of Connecticut in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies are led by fifth-year head coach Kevin Ollie. The Huskies split their home games between the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut. The Huskies are members of the American Athletic Conference.

Previous Season

The Huskies went 25-11 (11-7) finishing 6th in the conference. The Huskies won the American Conference Championship as the 5th seed, due to SMUs ineligibility. The Huskies won the American Conference Championship by beating Cincinnati in the quarterfinals, including the star freshman Jalen Adams hitting a three-quarter court shot with 0.8 seconds left to force a 4th overtime. The Huskies also routed Temple in the semifinals and rolled over Memphis in the Championship. The Huskies received a 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies beat #8 seed Colorado in the first round and ultimately lost in the second round to #1 seed Kansas by 12 points.
