It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Metiaburuz (Vidhan Sabha constituency)[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Garden Reach Road and Dr. Abdul Kabir Road are in the north. Murray Road, Halderpara Lane and Halderpara Road are in the east. S.A.Farooquie Road is in the south. The railway siding is in the west.[2]
