Career

Histon

Born in Luton, Bedfordshire,[1] Stevenson started his career in the youth system at Histon, signing for the club at the age of 15.[3] His debut for the club came in August 2010, at the age of 18, in a 2–0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon, replacing Callum Stewart as a substitute.[4] On 15 January 2011, Stevenson scored his first career goal in a 2–1 defeat to York City.[4] He scored his second goal on 22 March 2011 in a 3–2 defeat to Mansfield Town.[4] Stevenson remained a regular throughout the 2010–11 season, making a total of 31 appearances, scoring two goals,[5] but could not save Histon from relegation to the Conference North.[6]

During the 2011–12 season, Stevenson featured in every league game for Histon, which began with a 2–2 draw against Blyth Spartans on 13 August 2011.[4] His first goal of the season came on 6 December 2011 in a 3–0 win over Solihull Moors.[4] Further goals in a 3–2 defeat to Gainsborough Trinity on 21 January 2012 and a 5–5 draw against Droylsden on 17 April 2012 meant Stevenson finished the season with a total of three goals.[4] He also made two FA Cup appearances and one FA Trophy appearance to finish the season with a total of 45 appearances for Histon.[7]

Stevenson featured in all but one league game during the 2012–13 season, making 45 appearances in all competitions once more,[8] as he finished as top goalscorer for the club with 11 goals in his final season with Histon.[9]

Luton Town

In May 2013, Conference Premier club Luton Town announced that they would sign Stevenson in July 2013 on a free transfer on a two-year contract following the expiration of his contract with Histon.[9] He made his debut for the Hatters in September 2013 in a 0–0 draw with Grimsby Town.[4] He failed to establish himself in the side and in November 2013 he joined fellow Conference Premier side Dartford on loan until January.[10] He instantly secured a first-team place as the Darts struggled towards the bottom of the table. In January 2015, his loan was extended until the end of the season.[11] Despite his prolonged stay with the club, Dartford finished in the relegation places and Stevenson returned to newly promoted Luton in April 2014, having made 25 appearances and scoring once.[4]

Stevenson made his Football League debut in August 2014, as Luton beat Carlisle United 1–0 when he replaced Andy Drury as a substitute.[12] In October 2014, he scored his first Football League goal in a 2–1 win over Hartlepool United.[13]

In January 2015, he was again sent out on loan, joining Conference Premier club Aldershot Town on a one-month loan.[14] After making four appearances and scoring goal, his loan with Aldershot was extended in February 2015 until the end of the season.[15] In May 2015, it was announced that Stevenson's contract would not be renewed, and he was subsequently released by Luton.[16]

Aldershot Town

On 10 June 2015, it was announced that Stevenson had signed a one-year contract with Aldershot.[17] During the 2015–16 season, Stevenson featured in all but one league game, making a total of 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.[4]

Following the appointment of Gary Waddock as the new Aldershot manager, Stevenson was not offered a new contract and was released by the club.[18]

Dover Athletic

Stevenson signed for National League club Dover Athletic on 28 May 2016.[19]
