Senior

2020

In September Guan made her senior debut at the Chinese National Championships representing the Zhejiang provincial team. She led the team to win bronze in the team competition and individually qualified to the all-around final in second place behind reigning national champion Liu Tingting with a score of 55.900. She also qualified in first place to the balance beam final by a wide margin over reigning Junior World silver medalist Wei Xiaoyuan and reigning World silver medalist Liu. Her credited difficulty score of 7.0 was the highest of the 2017-2020 quad to that point.[9] During the all-around final she suffered multiple mishaps on uneven bars, beam, and floor and ended the competition in sixth place.[10] During the balance beam final she won gold with a secure routine ahead of Wei and Liu, and she placed eighth in the floor exercise final with a clean routine.[11]

2021

Guan was selected to represent China at the 2020 Summer Olympics as the youngest gymnast of the Chinese team, two months shy of being 17. At the Olympic Games she only competed on the balance beam during qualifications, where she posted the highest score, 14.933, and qualified first into the final.

On 3 August 2021, Guan won the gold medal in balance beam at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with the highest difficulty score of 6.6, and a total score of 14.633,[12] being the third Chinese gymnast to win the gold medal in this competition after Liu Xuan and Deng Linlin.[13]
