Elworth is a village and a suburb of Sandbach, Cheshire, England approximately one mile to the east. Elworth has a church, several pubs and a few shops. It also has the railway station serving Sandbach and is on the railway line between Crewe and Manchester. There is a canal running to the southwest of the village. It has an industrial past and was the home of Foden's the lorry makers. There are two churches in Elworth, Mount Pleasant Methodist Church and St Peter's Church of England, the latter was designed by George Gilbert Scott, who also designed St Pancras railway station in London.

In Feb 2010, the church hall (formerly the village school) adjacent to St Peters church was significantly damaged by fire, the cause of which has not been determined but is thought to have been electrical. The church hall was a centre for many local events as well as home to a pre-school nursery and after school club as well as Guides, Brownies and many community groups. After much consultation, it was decided to demolish the original building as it had been too badly damaged and to rebuild with a modern purpose built community centre. The project to clear the site got underway in early 2011 and building work started in May 2011 for a projected completion date of early 2012.

The Methodist Church continues to host the Boys' Brigade,[1] Brownies, Under 4s, a painting group, badminton, pilates, Zumba, Tuesday coffee and light lunches, Thursday evening all-sorts and line dancing. By September 2012 the main worship area should have been re-modelled and that opens up greater possibilities for service within the community.
