The 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will be the 6th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, the biennial international women's youth football championship contested by the under-17 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will be held in Uruguay from 20 November to 13 December 2018.[1]

Host selection

On 6 March 2014, FIFA announced that bidding had begun for the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. Member associations interested in hosting must submit a declaration of interest by 15 April 2014, and provide the complete set of bidding documents by 31 October 2014.[2]

The following countries made official bids for hosting the tournament:[3]

The decision on the hosts was originally to be made at the FIFA Executive Committee meeting on 19–20 March 2015,[4] but no announcement was made after the meeting.

During FIFA President Gianni Infantino's visit to Uruguay in March 2016, Uruguay showed interest in organizing the event.[5] The FIFA Council appointed Uruguay as host on 10 May 2016.[1]

Qualified teams

A total of 16 teams qualify for the final tournament. In addition to the team who qualified automatically as hosts, the other 15 teams qualify from six separate continental competitions. The slot allocation has yet to be published.
