The 2016–17 Honduran Liga Nacional season will be the 51st Honduran Liga Nacional edition since its establishment in 1965. For this season, the system format will remain the same as the previous season. The tournament is scheduled to begin on July 2016[1] and end on May 2017.

2015–16 teams

A total of 10 teams will contest the tournament, including 9 sides from the 2015–16 season plus the team promoted from the 2015–16 Liga de Ascenso.
