Yawata-shinden Station (八幡新田駅 Yawata-shinden-eki?) is a railway station operated by Meitetsu's Kōwa Line located in Tōkai, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is located 5.9 rail kilometers from the terminus of the line at Ōtagawa Station. [1]

History

Yawata-shinden Station was opened on April 1, 1932 as a station on the Chita Railway. The Chita Railway became part of the Meitetsu group on February 2, 1943. The station has been unattended since 1950. In March 2007, a new station building was completed, and the Tranpass system of magnetic fare cards with automatic turnstiles was implemented.

Yawata-shinden Station has two opposed side platforms connected by a level crossing. The platforms are short, and can handle trains of only six carriages or less.
