KWSU-TV digital channel 10 in Pullman, Washington and KTNW digital channel 31 in Richland, Washington are a simulcasting pair of Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member stations covering southeastern Washington and north central Idaho as well as Wallowa County, Oregon. The two stations are owned by Washington State University.

KWSU's studios are located in the Murrow Communications Center on WSU's main campus in Pullman, while KTNW's studios are located on the WSU Tri-Cities campus in Richland.

KWSU serves a corner of the Spokane market, while KTNW serves as the PBS member for the eastern portion of the Yakima/Tri-Cities market. The two stations are also carried on the Spokane and Yakima/Tri-Cities DirecTV and Dish Network feeds, expanding their potential audience to over 600,000 people in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana.

History

KWSU signed on the air on September 24, 1962 as KWSC-TV, becoming KWSU-TV in the 1970s.

KTNW made its debut on October 18, 1987. Prior to 1987, channel 31 was KTRX-TV, based in Kennewick, Washington, which was on the air briefly in the late-1950s.

KWSU-DT moved back to VHF 10 after the shutdown of analog broadcasting on February 17, 2009; KTNW-DT remains on UHF 38, using PSIP to display its virtual channel as 31.
