Summary

Aeromarine 75 Seaplane (converted Felixtowe F5L) in flight.

Christened 'Columbus', the aircraft shown was an Aeromarine model 75 flying boat. Each model 75 was a conversion of a Curtiss F-5L or Curtiss H-16 maritime patrol aircraft originally built for the U.S. Navy. As war surplus these aircraft were bought and remodeled, some in the company's own workshops.

During prohibition there were daily flights in the winter season to Bimini, the nearest "wet" spot to the U.S.
