Summary

A U.S. Air Force McDonnell Douglas RF-4C-38-MC Phantom II (s/n 68-0562) from the 17th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 86th Tactical Fighter Wing, landing at Zweibrücken Air Base, Rheinland-Pfalz, West Germany, in 1970. In 1971 the squadron tail code was changed to "ZR", which becam the 86th TFW overall tail code in 1972. On 31 January 1973 the 26th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing changed bases with the 86th TFW and moved from Ramstein to Zweibrücken, but the 17th TRS stayed in Zweibrücken. The RF-4C 68-0562 was finally retired to the AMARC as FP0655 on 9 April 1991.
