The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
When Caspian X's ship Dawn Treader reaches the island of the retired star Ramandu, Ramandu's daughter greets Caspian and tells him of the Three Sleepers on the island (who happen to be three of the Lords for whom Caspian is searching). Of her past she says only that she has lived most of her life on her father's island. Caspian falls in love with her and promises to return for her when his mission is accomplished. They marry when he returns, and she becomes Queen of Narnia.
The Silver Chair
When Eustace Scrubb and Jill Pole arrive in Narnia, they discover that Caspian and his wife have had a son, Rilian, and that 10 years before they arrived, the Queen had been killed by a great serpent while picnicking with friends.
Rilian returned to the scene of his mother's death many times over the following weeks, once with Lord Drinian, where they both caught a glimpse of a beautiful woman that Rilian had previously seen. The next time Rilian went there, he went alone and failed to return. The loss of his wife and son have sent Caspian into despair, and he fears he may never see his son again.
Eustace, Jill, and Puddleglum discover Rilian under an enchantment by the Lady of the Green Kirtle in the underworld. They release Rilian, who breaks the enchantment by destroying the Silver Chair. The Lady of the Green Kirtle tries to prevent their escape, but when she takes the form of the green serpent, Rilian realises that she was his mother's killer. He avenges his mother's death by killing the serpent with the aid of Eustace, Jill, and Puddleglum.
The Last Battle
Ramandu's daughter appears in The Last Battle at the Great Reunion, with her husband Caspian, her father Ramandu and her son Rilian.
Portrayals
In the 1989 television serial produced by the BBC, Ramandu's daughter is portrayed by Gabrielle Anwar in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
In the 2010 movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Lilliandil is portrayed by Australian actress Laura Brent. The name was coined by the film's producer Douglas Gresham, Lewis's step-son.[1] In this film, Ramandu does not appear and Lilliandil is a full star; she shines over Ramandu's Island and the crew on the Dawn Treader follow her position in the sky to reach the island. When they arrive and find Aslan's Table with the three sleeping lords, Lilliandil descends to them, turning into a beautiful young woman, and Caspian is instantly smitten with her. She explains that the three lords are under a sleeping spell because they threatened violence against one another at Aslan's Table, where violence is forbidden. She guides Caspian, Lucy and Edmund to Dark Island, the location of the seventh and final sword, and warns them of the dangers there. Before she returns to the sky, Caspian tells Lilliandil that he hopes they will meet again – a wish that she reciprocates with a smile.
