The Acheilognathinae, the bitterling-like cyprinids, are a subfamily of cyprinids. This subfamily contains 6 genera and at least 71 described species to date.[1] Over half of the species are in the genus Acheilognathus.
Genera contained herein are:
- Acanthorhodeus – spiny bitterlings
- Acheilognathus (42 species)
- Paratanakia (1 species)
- Pseudorhodeus (1 species)
- Rhodeus – (typical) bitterlings (22 species)
- Tanakia (4 species)
